Leonardo Merlini

Biography

Leonardo Merlini began studying the piano at the age of five with Alessandro Gagliardi. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano under the guidance of Anna Kravtchenko, with whom he is currently continuing his studies in the Master of Arts in Music Performance. He has achieved success in numerous piano competitions, including the Absolute First Prize at the Elisa ed Elsa Giubitosi International Piano Competition in Capri, 2025 and Third Prize at the 6th International Istanbul Piano Competition (WFIMC) in 2024. He has given recitals in prestigious venues in Switzerland, including the „LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura“ and the „Zentrum Paul Klee“ in Bern, as well as in Italy at the Cappella Paolina of the Quirinal Palace and at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto.
