Wataru Mashimo

Biography

Wataru Mashimo began studying the piano in Japan and continued his musical training at the Faculty of Music of Tokyo University of the Arts, where he studied with Professor Takashi Hironaka. Since 2015, he has been studying at the Accademia Pianistica “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola with Ingrid Fliter and Leonid Margarius, and with Marco Zuccarini for chamber music. In 2025, he completed his Master's Diploma at the Academy, graduating with highest honours, cum laude, and a special mention. He has received awards at prestigious international competitions, including the 29th Clara Haskil International Piano Competition in Vevey, Switzerland. In September 2025, he was awarded Second Prize at the 33rd Alessandro Casagrande International Piano Competition in Terni. He has been invited to perform at international festivals and in prestigious concert venues across Europe.
